Therapeutic Massage

Revive & Restore Therapeutic Massage is a practitioner-led massage therapy practice founded by Michelle L., serving clients in and around Aurora, Colorado. Michelle helps people reduce pain, restore mobility, and feel safe in their bodies again through thoughtful, personalized massage therapy.
Before becoming a massage therapist, I spent years working in Human Resources. A role that demanded constant output, long hours, and little space to listen to my own body. Like many professionals, I was experiencing chronic tension, burnout, and the disconnect that comes from pushing through discomfort instead of addressing it.
That experience framed how I built my massage practice.
Revive & Restore was created as a response to rushed, surface-level bodywork and overly aggressive “no pain, no gain” approaches. I believe massage therapy should be effective, calming, and intuitive.
Here, your body is treated as an intelligent, resilient system. One that responds best to skilled care, clear communication, and a sense of safety.
Most people have been conditioned to think of massage as a luxury. Something nice to do every once in a while. Or worse, they’ve had “deep tissue” experiences that left them bruised, not better.
I believe in something different:
That massage therapy can be deeply therapeutic without being painful
That restoration massage is functional
That your pain, stiffness, and tension are symptoms worth understanding, not ignoring
And that your nervous system deserves as much care as your muscles in your healing journey

Revive & Restore uses a personalized, restorative massage approach designed to reduce pain, improve mobility, and calm the nervous system without forcing the body.
Each session is guided by your body’s signals rather than a fixed routine. I observe posture, breathing, and movement patterns, then use targeted techniques to address the root causes of pain, not just the symptoms.
During your session, I assess:
Muscle compensation patterns
Fascial restriction
Protective tension
Nervous system over-activation
Based on what your body communicates, I select the techniques that will create the most effective and lasting relief that day.
This approach allows many clients to experience meaningful pain reduction without the soreness or bruising often associated with deep tissue massage.
When you walk in, I’m already noticing posture, breath, and movement patterns. I’m listening to the words you use and the tension beneath them.
Whether you mention recurring neck pain or vague shoulder tightness, I begin by asking questions that help uncover the root cause — not just the symptom.
Using palpation and subtle feedback (your reactions, breath, micro-adjustments), I identify areas of:
Compensation
Protective holding
Fascial restriction
Nervous system hyperarousal
That tells me what techniques to draw from, not some checklist from a massage textbook.
I use a combination of modalities, including:
Myofascial release for unwinding long-held tension
SMRT (Spontaneous Muscle Release Technique) to retrain muscle memory
Dalton Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques ® to restore function and relieve pain
Cupping therapy to promote circulation and fascia hydration
Diaphragm and abdominal work to release emotional holding patterns
Hot stones, bamboo, towels, and heat packs for deeper access with less resistance
Range-of-motion techniques to reintroduce fluid movement where it’s been lost
I may use one technique in a session. I may use four. It depends on what your body needs that day, not what’s popular or trendy.
Revive & Restore focuses on pain relief by calming the nervous system first, allowing muscles to release without force or pain
That’s why nervous system regulation is woven into every step. From breathwork to pacing to the way I end a session with integration, not abruptness.
I don’t believe in forcing change. I believe in creating space for the body to choose it. This is the deep work your body’s been begging for.
I’m not here to chase knots. I’m here to resolve the patterns that keep them coming back.
Sometimes that means deep work. Other times, it means doing less but doing it more precisely.
Because when your body finally feels like it can let go, not just physically, but emotionally and neurologically, that’s when real restoration begins.
Clients come to me from all over Aurora and the greater Denver area — often after trying other massage therapists, chiropractors, or even physical therapy.
Whether you’re:
A nurse with shoulder pain
A tech worker with tension from 10-hour Zoom marathons
A retiree struggling with mobility
Or just someone who wants to feel at home in their body again

Some clients come for relief. Some come for reconnection. All leave feeling more like themselves.
That’s the kind of restorative massage I offer.
My practice is located in Aurora near South Jamaica Ct., just minutes from the Denver Tech Center and I-225. I serve clients from Aurora, Denver, Centennial, and surrounding neighborhoods looking for:
Massage therapy for pain and tension
Restoration massage that works without force
A massage therapist who listens to the body, not just the intake form
You don’t have to “live with it.”
You don’t have to brace yourself for another painful massage.
You don’t have to explain why you’re tired of being dismissed.
At Revive & Restore, you’re not just a body on a table. You’re a person worth hearing and healing.
