FAQ

What Should I Wear?

Wear what makes you comfortable! The intent of massage therapy is to be able to relax. Some clients prefer to be fully nude, while others decide to leave pieces on. Your level of comfort, as well as what we’re working on, may also dictate what you prefer to wear. No matter what you decide, you will be properly draped.

Can I Request Specific Pressure Or Focus Area?

Absolutely! I’m here to work on your issues, and I understand focus areas are a big part of that. During your sessions we will discuss your needs and the best method to address them. Pressure is also a big part of feeling comfortable and getting the most out of your massage, so it is important that we address what may be too much or too little for you! Some people think that massage must hurt to help. But a massage doesn’t need to be painful to be effective.

What Conditions Or Issues Can Massage Therapy Help With?

Massage can be an important tool in promoting mental and physical health. A common misconception about massage is that it’s only part of a spa day and intended for pampering yourself. While this may be true for some people, it is most frequently a tool for stress reduction and pain relief. Some specific issues massage can help include:

Anxiety
Depression
Digestive Disorders
Headache
Insomnia
Nerve Pain
Postoperative Care
Soft Tissue Strains and Injury
Sports Injuries

What is Therapeutic Massage? How Is It Different From Relaxation Massage?

Swedish Massage (also referred to as relaxation massage) and therapeutic massages are two common types of massage therapy, but they differ in their techniques, goals, and benefits.

Swedish Massage: Uses long, gliding strokes, kneading, and friction to promote relaxation and improve circulation. Primarily aimed at relaxation, stress reduction, and improving overall well-being. Can reduce muscle tension, improve flexibility, promote relaxation, and boost the immune system.

Therapeutic Massage: Focuses on deeper tissues. Targets specific muscle pain, injuries, or conditions. Can relieve pain, improve range of motion, reduce inflammation, and address underlying musculoskeletal issues.

My therapeutic massage blends the relaxing and general massage experience with alleviating specific muscle pain, injuries, or conditions that need to be addressed and focuses on deeper tissues using techniques such as stretching, ROM, positional release, and more. Based on your body, we will discuss the techniques best suited for you.

Do You Offer Gift Certificates?

Yes, physical and e-gift cards are available for any occasion!

Do You Accept Insurance?

At this time, insurance is not accepted in order to cater to your specific needs and allow me to work unrestricted.

How Often Should I Get Massage?

Weekly or bi-weekly massages can help maintain muscle tone, reduce stress, and improve overall well-being. Individuals with stress or anxiety may find weekly or bi-weekly massages helpful for relaxation.
People heavily involved in sports or people with chronic pain may benefit from more frequent massages, such as 2-3 times per week.
If you have occasional muscle soreness or stiffness, a monthly massage can help prevent future problems.

In short, there are no standard guidelines for massage frequency; it depends on the type, desired outcome, individual needs, and budget.

In order to best meet your needs and allow for the most amount of time in your session, Walk-Ins are not currently accepted.
